One 18-year-old first-time voter at the St Matthews Primary School in St Micahel North East, told Loop News that he was excited about the whole process:

"It's my first time and I am excited. It feels good to know I am doing my part," he said while asking to remain anonymous.

Ama Jones, another first-time voter going to the St Christopher Primary School in Christ Church East, is proud to exercise her civic duty:

"This is my first time voting - I feel so important."

Reports indicate that long lines continue to build all across the island already and a high voter turnout is therefore expected.
